Born in Bangkok, Rujanee Mahakanjana is a native of Thailand, now living in Chicago and teaching at the International Academy of Design and Technology, Chicago. Her background in interior architecture, symbolized by her fascination with the human body, influences most of early her work in both two and three dimensional form and space. Currently she has been working with a different medium as her art exploration in film and video productions. Her work philosophy is inspired by the idea of human life, social struggle, and interconnection between human experience and the surrounding, and how it can heighten an awareness of self and others.
